Marilyn Stein was a parole officer, working with court committed adults for more than 21 years in Lancaster, PA. In 2002 she retired from the County of Lancaster and began a training and consulting business, MGS Consulting.

As a training consultant she has worked with a variety of agencies both nationally and across Pennsylvania including the National Judicial College, The National Drug Court Institute, The PA Department of Health and the PA Department of Transportation.

Marilyn holds an Allied Certified Addiction Practitioner. She is a Certified Court Reporting Network Evaluator and an Alcohol Highway Safety School Instructor.

She completed her Master’s Degree in Training and Development from Penn Sate University in 1997. Most recently Marilyn has developed a number of on line education programs to further enhance the opportunity to make pro social changes through learning. Marilyn also facilitates women’s intervention groups and batterer’s intervention groups for court committed men charged with domestic violence. Both groups are designed to help participants develop insight and increase awareness about past behaviors and coping methods so that positive, pro social change can begin.

In 2009, Marilyn authored two guides, Maximizing Strengths and Impaired Driving for Carey Group Publishing
The guides aid probation officers address a wide variety of issues facing offenders on supervision.
